CBF BURSARY FUND
"ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH, DEAR FRIENDS, ONCE MORE"
Shakespeare - King Henry V, Act II, Scene. 4
The Canadian Battlefields Foundation needs your help. Help us continue the job of keeping alive the sacrifices made by young Canadians in the Second World War through a bursary program, to provide future generations of Canadians, the teachers and leaders of tomorrow, with the knowledge and experience to recognize the valour and honour the values of the Canadian sacrifice in battle.
CBF BURSARY FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN
Students' field trips are funded primarily from income generated by the Foundation’s Bursary Fund. Participating students are each expected to pay a part of the cost of the tour.
Donations and pledges to the Fund reached $813,000 by Mar 2006. It is essential that the Foundation increase the Fund to $1 000 000 if it is to continue supporting twelve students each year in perpetuity. When the Fund reaches $1 000 000 it will be self-sufficient
The number of student applications each year is a wonderful sign that young Canadians are becoming ever more conscious of this important part of their heritage and its importance to their well-being today.
The Foundation expends all but a small fraction of donations received on the Bursary Fund.
